SRAA Scholastic Nationals Info
Congratulations to our athletes headed to the Scholastic National Championships!
This email contains important information for parents of athletes traveling to the regatta and more so for parents traveling with the team.
INFORMATION FOR EVERYONE:
WHO: SI crews will be competing in the Scholastic Rowing Association of America (SRAA) regatta on May 27th and 28th. There will be 149 schools at this regatta. SI will be rowing in these four events:
Event #5, Girls Freshmen 8+ with 24 entries
Event #13 Girls JV 8+ with 20 entries
Event #14 Boys JV 8+ with 22 entries
Event #19 Girls Ltwt Varsity 8+ with 6 entries
TRIVIA: There are three St. Ignatius school teams in this regatta. We are designated as SICP. SICR is for the all-boys team from Saint Ignatius Chicago Rowing. SIWR is for the all-boys St. Ignatius Wildcat Rowing team out of Cleveland OH.
WHEN: The race schedule is not yet available at either Regatta Central nor the SRAA.org site. I'll send an update once the schedule is finalized.
LIVESTREAM: No links as of May 21st. I will update this FAQ once a race schedule is posted or if a live stream link is provided.
TEAM TRAVEL:
Departing
United Flight 2630 Wednesday, May 25 at 11:13pm from SFO
Women's team will meet at the United Ticket Counter at 9:00pm
Men's team may meet before 9pm for a team activity
Both teams arrive in Philadelphia at 7:45am EST
Returning
United Flight 2301 Sunday May 29th at 5:27pm to Chicago O'Hare, connecting to:
United Flight 2327 at 7:35pm to SFO
Arrives at SFO at 10:00pm (check the flight status before heading out to SFO). Families are responsible for getting their athletes home from the airport.
Look for communication from the SI coaches for updated details. And families should check with their athletes, to determine the best location for pick up, once they've been dismissed by their respective coaches.TEAM HOTELS:

GENERAL SCHEDULE (Subject to change):
Thursday: Arrive Thursday morning, rest, rig the boats, and a practice row. Dinner followed by more rest.
Friday: Qualifying heats (Times TBA). Then dinner and exploration of historic downtown Philadelphia.
Saturday: Racing continues with semifinals and finals. Afterwards TBD.
Sunday: Morning mass (we're a Catholic school, after all). Breakfast and more exploration of historic Philadelphia before the flight home.
BRING CASH: Bring small bills (especially $5 bills). The Benjamin Franklin bridge is $5 per car from NJ into Pennsylvania or EZ Pass. Hotel parking in the Philadelphia downtown area is mostly "valet only".
PARKING AT SFO: If you plan to park and fly out of SFO, SFO Long Term Parking (794 South Airport Boulevard San Francisco, CA 94128) is $90. You can prepay online and book a reservation in advance (May 25th 8pm to May 29th 1159pm).
